Birmingham based Martineau Big Band are making a rare visit to the area, to perform at St Peters Church, Upton Road, Powick, WR2 4QT. The concert starts at 7:30 on Sunday May 6th. Entry is £6 and light refreshments will be available during the interval. The concert is a fundraising event for the Church.
The 17-piece Martineau Big Band play music from the ’30s to the present day. They are led by award-winning Musical Director, John Ruddick MBE, musical director of the Midland Youth Jazz Orchestra, 11 times winners in the BBC National Big Band Competition. He is a highly talented trumpet player in his own right, playing with the BBC Big Band and several Birmingham based Big Bands, including Fat Chops. Best to book in advance as this will be popular…!
