The traditional Upton Jazz Street Parade takes place on Saturday morning, 23rd June. You are all welcome to join in dressed in your jazzy-best, in colourful and possibly even bizarre costume (for no particular or sensible reason we’d like someone to turn up in their Barney suit). Historic or classic modes of transport would be good too. Dancers welcome. Most definitely, and going back many many years to New Orleans, it is the occasion for the Secondliners to twirl a decorated umbrella. We have prizes. For the best adult umbrella, afternoon tea with Prosecco courtesy of Oscars (www.oscarsbarhire.co.uk) who will be down by the riverside. For the best teenager, and for the best young person under 11, vouchers for £30 each. Judging will take place at the end of the parade.
